Our process

A typical pebbledash or render removal job runs through these five stages. We'll talk you through each one before we start.

  1. 01
    Inspection

We assess the substrate, identify cracks, hollow sections and any underlying brick or block damage before quoting.

  2. 02
    Surface prep

Sheeting goes up, windows and ground are protected, scaffold is erected where needed for upper floors.

  3. 03
    Mechanical removal

Pebbledash and render are removed in controlled sections using pneumatic chisels — taken back to a sound substrate.

  4. 04
    Repairs & repointing

Damaged bricks are cut out and replaced. Mortar joints are raked and repointed where required.

  5. 05
    Re-rendering or finish

Optional silicone, monocouche or sand-and-cement render — or a clean repointed brick finish if preferred.

Before and after: dated pebbledash on the left, fresh modern silicone render on the right

Before / after — the difference is real

Pebbledash dates a property. The right finish — clean repointed brick, smooth silicone render, or a modern through-coloured monocouche — can take 20 years off a house's appearance and meaningfully lift its value.

"Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The lads stripped the pebbledash off our Victorian terrace without a single damaged brick. Tidy, polite and exactly when they said they'd be. Couldn't recommend them more highly."

"From quote to completion they were professional, fair and skilled. The monocouche finish on our detached looks fantastic and we've had neighbours stopping to ask who did it. Highly recommend."

Frequently asked questions

How much does pebbledash removal cost in Swindon?+

Most semi-detached homes in Swindon land between £2,500 and £6,500 for full pebbledash removal, depending on house size, scaffold needs and substrate condition. See our pebbledash removal cost page for a detailed breakdown.

Will removing pebbledash damage my brickwork?+

Done properly with mechanical chisels and a careful eye on substrate condition, brickwork is generally fine — though older Swindon homes sometimes have softer Victorian brick that needs repointing or selective replacement after removal. We always inspect before quoting.

Do you cover render removal and roughcast removal too?+

Yes — pebble dash removal, roughcast removal, sand and cement render removal, and external render removal are all part of the same trade. One team, one quote.

How long does a typical job take?+

A standard 3-bed semi takes 5–10 working days from scaffold up to clean substrate, depending on weather and whether you're re-rendering afterwards.
